Welcome to my blog.
I finally decided to document my thoughts and activities all around the world of beer.
In case that I actually get some readers here some things you might want to know: You can call me J.F.(I adopted this habit so that anglophone people wont think that I have a girls name, and J.F. sounds way better than any English pronounciation of it).
I started brewing in 2011, although my first experience in alcoholic fermentation was in 2009.
I am greatly interested in fermeted food and beverages including lactic fermented vegetables, wine, cheese, other fermented milk products and much more, though I consider beer my greatest passion.
While I reside in Germany, I will mostly write in English, as the beer community is international and unfortunately most innovations take place elsewhere.
There might be a few post in German too,
but usually I will commute this through other channels.
The focus of this blog will be on unusual brewing methods, ingredients, microorganisms combined with the odd post about current national and international issues around beer and brewing.
And maybe other fermented stuff. Maybe
And why Cunning Catfish?
I love Catfish. Their variety fascinates me, though most people think that they are mostly the same and rather simple, while actually being extremely complex. Kinda like beer.
